Program Description

The program is designed for candidates who prepare for CELPIP test to be qualified for Canadian Citizen and permanent resident statues, as well as for career and academic related qualifications.

IELTS score of 3 or School Placement test

Learning Objectives*

Upon completion of this program the successful student will have reliably demonstrated the ability to:

·       Develop an understanding of the format of the test

·       Develop effective strategies for listening, speaking, reading and writing tests.

Method(s) of Evaluation*

Formative assessments are contained in the lessons.  Summative assessments are based on the following criteria:

20% for attendance and participation (80% attendance is required)

20% for quizzes

20% for assignments

40%  final exam

Completion Requirements*

There is no graduation per se. Students need to complete the instructional hours and pass 70% of the assessments (or related requirements) to receive a certificate of completion.

Program Duration

The Course is 48 hours/12 weeks in total.

Students can start a course at the beginning a new topic area (generally every one or two weeks).

2 to 4 hours per week
